Home help for seniors living in Wrenthorpe

I'm Kirsty i am currently 16 years old (17 in July) i used to help look after my granddad when he was in the nursing home, I used to help feed and talk to the other residents in the same care home he was in. I also look after my grandma when no one else is available which is quite a lot since they work office days and sometimes the weekend. I am currently doing a level 2 NVQ course in hairdressing and i had a job in a hair salon. Cleaning around, making drinks and looking after the clients....

My grandmother lived to 94 and I often did her shopping for her, she'd give me a budget and let me know if there was anything specific that she wanted and I would go buy all this and then make her meals based on what she got that were nutritious healthy and traditional homemade meals.

I'm currently studying for my A-levels to become a biologist. I have some experience with elderly people as I volunteered at a sheltered housing scheme for the elderly and also looked after my granddad when he was in the hospital. I enjoy peoples company a lot and I am fascinated to hear what wonderful stories they have about their lives to tell. I'm patient, I listen well and have a multitude of day to day skills like cooking and cleaning that I can assist with.
