I have always had my own pets and have turned down jobs before because they expected me to keep my cat inside, I could not do that to an animal.
I have always taken on pets from the RSPCA in my life time I have owned for cats and one dog which was a Yorkie that I inherited from someone who didnt want it because it didnt stand right for shows, but had the most cheeky character and was much more my type of dog regardless of breed.
To be absolutely honest it was only when I went through some job descriptions I came across this and until this time it had not occurred to me. But it is a lovely way to earn a living when you are an animal lover.
I could not spend a lot of time with anyone that's not, I even find it tough when my old school friend turns her nose up at my cat.
When I go away myself which is very rare as I worry about my animals, I pray that the carers are looking after my Tilly as well as well as I would.
When I had a shop years ago the cat, the rabbit and the dog used to follow me out as I put my goods out on the forecourt and then back in again, they would all do that about thirty times before I opened up the shop. I am sure I was known locally as the slightly mad lady with the antiques shop. Funny enough it used to be a pet shop before I bought it.
My rabbit used to roam free as I decided there was no need to keep her in her hutch and I made her up a fresh bed in the shop every night out of rags and then threw them out amd replaced with clean everyday.

this is cheaper than a pet going into kennels and they get some fuss.
