Hi my name is Lauren, I am 26 and have worked with animals since I was 16. I have a Bsc in Animal Behaviour and Welfarewith Hons, and 4 years experiance teaching animal care (level 1 to level 3) to 16+ students.

While working it was my responsibility to work as part of a team to care for all the animals within the college. Using the animals to teach and aid lessons. Animals at work include cockroaches, frogs, snakes (corn, python, king), rodents, rabbits, racoon dogs, goats, ferrets, chickens and ducks.

Along with this I regularly house sit for my friends who have a range of animals including dogs, cats, hedgehogs, raccoon dogs, meerkats, coatis and many more.

I love working with animals and have a passion for their care and welfare. I currently have two pet cats aged 3 (Sloan) and 5 (Eva) and a pet rat called Spencer who is 3 (his brothers recently passed). I enjoy spending times with my animals and watching them play.

Sloan was sold to me at 5 weeks of age, I was told from the ‘breeder’ that she was eating adult wet cat food ! After a wuicccheck at the vets, she had an infestation of fleas, worms and was only 5 weeks and not the said 10 weeks. For the first 4 weeks of me having her she was on powder milk to help her grow. She is now an annoying but amazing little bundle of fur that takes over my bed at night.

Spencer was given to me at 6 months old as he could not be sold in a pet shop, he came a little shy of people but has grown into a lovely chubby old ratty. Now he is old, he loves to sit and watch TV with me, while attempting to steal what ever snacks I have.

I try to keep up to date with all new animal related issues within the news, especially is there is a disease/infection outbreak that I need to be made aware off (Alabama rot etc).

I understand the importance of nutrition and will follow all tailored feeding plans for your animals. I have administered medication to many different animal species. I am there to be your pets friend while you are away, to keep them company and keep them happy util your return home.
