I worked as a domicillary carer for Age UK when I lived near Newcastle, I have since moved to Middlesbrough but never left my caring attitude behind! I beleive that even something as simple as having a cup of tea and a converstation with somebody can make all the difference in their mental well being. I am currently studying to be a nurse although I am on a break from it, I am extremely caring and compassionate, and thoroughly embrace dignity and respect. I used to provide live-in care for my partners grandmother (before her health deteriorated to a point that required her to move to a nursing home) and I am proud of how compassionate and patient I was with her dementia, I tried my best until the very end to help her maintain a suitable degree of indipendence, and even now visit her regularly in the home. She doesn't always remember me, but I remember her. As a domicillary carer I was often praised by individuals and families alike, I planted sunflowers in the common area in the summer and often spent my unpaid breaks with the clients.
