Hello,
my name is Jane and I'm a 24-year-old German, just about to start my MA in the UK.
I would describe myself as mature, responsible and reliable, and have recently gained some experience of working with elderly people in a care home. This experience was gathered in Germany in the months of May to August 2020, as I worked as an assistant in the care home's living area. During those months, I have learnt a lot about the needs of elderly people and I gained a lot of insight on how to interact with those who are demented.
As I have experienced first-hand the lack of time and staffing in care homes, I would really like to give something to the elderly, who are a part of our society that is very often overlooked.
My main quality is patience. I like to listen and talk to people. I am also very happy to do chores, go shopping, and other tasks.
