I consider myself a very patient and kind person, and love to listen to stories, do puzzles, cook healthy and delicious meals and, yes, I even love vacuuming if you can believe that ! I believe that I can offer friendship, empathy and practical help to elderly people who require it. I worked in a nursing home many years ago and found it incredibly rewarding, although I was officially employed as a member of the kitchen staff, it was my duty every day to deliver the residents meals and while doing so, would often spend time conversing with them and keeping them company, as many no longer had very much family to visit. It wasn't official care work, but I was proud of my contribution :) I also cared for both my parents (who are not elderly, but disabled) when I was growing up, and believe that that is where I grew my empathy and patience :)
