Hello,

My name is Megan and I am a qualified primary school teacher, however I am taking time out from teaching to study for my master's degree.

I am have experience with care giving as for many years I acted as my mother's carer. This was for various needs such as medical, companionship, shopping, housework, admin and accounting. I know how important it was for my mother's physical and mental health to have somebody, that she could trust, there to care for her.

I am keen to now use the skills that I gained whilst looking after my mother to help somebody else who requires this. I know that those requiring care need somebody who is not only efficient and organised but also empathetic, kindhearted and respectful. I want to ensure that the person I am helping feels supported, safe and able to ask for help whilst also not feeling that their independence has been taken from them.
