Hello, I am a 22 year old female. I have been irish dancing since i was 3 years of age, my aunties competing during my time in starting. My little brother also joined in irish dancing so we were always travelling with family. We would compete every weekend in different cities all over the UK, sometimes also travelling abroad.
I stopped competing in Irish dancing at the age of 16 due to a number of injuries, however I spent the 5 years after teaching others within the Kathleen Hale School of Irish Dance. During my time teaching Irish dancing, I worked with children from the age of 3-18. Also taught a couple of adult ceili classes.
I am offering sessions for beginners, all ages from the age of 3 welcome. Although, I was teaching to compete, I now would like to use irish dancing as a way of keeping fit and healthy.
I would like to achieve this by using the basic warm ups, stretches and movements as a fitness routine. If individuals find they enjoy the aspect of irish dancing, then I am available to continue to work with the individual to teach more abstract techniques and alsogive them information for dance schools to join if they wish to compete.
