I am a very caring person - I once worked with a lady with M.S in assisting her with eating and drinking and taking her out. I am good at communicating with the elderly and kind, compassionate and patient. I always enjoyed working with elderly in the past - they can be so wise and interesting.
My main qualities are in communication and patience and responding to their needs by prioritising what is most important 1st and acting quickly. The patients I care for at work say that I always get stuff done quickly for them and the staff feedback to me is that I am very thorough and so I do not miss anything.
I am a qualified nurse and I have a few years of working with the elderly and I may be able to spot physical issues that need referring on. I have been worked on an admissions elderly ward for 2 years in the past and then in a dementia ward for a year and before that 2 and a half years in Nursing Homes as a Healthcare Assistant before I was qualified. I have been working in Mental Health now for almost 30 years.
