Olivia, private lessons dance in Darlington

Hello,

My name is Olivia Joan , I am 19 years of age and currently live in Darlington until mid September, where I move back to Sunderland (as I study at the University there). At University i study Criminology, Dance and French (I know, what a mixture)! In September I will be going into my second year.

I have been dancing since the age of 4, where i started off with ballet, modern and tap dancing that i attended every Saturday at a local dance school called 'Pierremont School Of Dance'. At the school we did exams in each of the styles every year which increasingly got harder and more technical over the years. We would also do one big show once every year that was spread over 6/7 days and nights (this was my favourite part by a mile as I loved dancing for an audience, especially my family and friends). We then started to take part in the annual 'Mass dance' in Darlington which was so much fun to partake in!
At the age of 15 i decided i wanted to explore other styles and push myself further, so i made the decision to leave the school and aim for bigger and better things. This started by being invited to audition at a dance school in Aycliffe named 'K danz', doing musical theatre, contemporary, gymnastics and commercial dance. Luckily , I passed all of these auditions and became part of the school for a brief period of time. During this i got to perform at a basketball game doing a really upbeat jazz routine which i found highly nerve wracking! Due to starting college, I had to leave the school as my education became my priority. However, during college i attended a dance club first year where we learnt different pieces of choreography in multiple styles and did lessons in technique (mainly ballet). When it came to second year, I was asked to help run the club and sometimes cover the classes if the teacher couldn't make it in. This was quite a big responsibility for me and something i found really interesting as i got to put a lot more of my own input in to the dances.
When second year started, I applied to audition for a dance academy in Gateshead called 'Phoenix Dance Academy', again fortunately i passed my audition and got into the Academy (which sadly in the end i couldn't attend due to transport an class times being an issue in regards to college and work hours). In addition to this, I applied to the University of Sunderland to study a Dance degree. For this i had to send over a video of a 3 minute dance i choreographed myself. Although this process was stressful and slightly painful, I eventually sent it off and felt relieved to find out Id gotten an Unconditional offer!
Dance styles i can teach: Ballet, tap, modern, commercial, musical theatre, contemporary, street dance, improvisation, heels, burlesque, jazz, lyrical, gymnastics (medium level), flexibility and technique lessons are also on offer, which helps with every style in dance. Dance is my biggest passion of mine, and I would love to help other people learn new styles and techniques.
I have certificates and trophies to show my exam results that i did for tap, modern and ballet if needed. I also have an up to date CV that is also available if needed.

Thank you,

Olivia

Explanation:

Dance is my biggest passion and hobby in my life, and therefore I don't need a massive incentive to teach others and help them create something beautiful, as I love watching the way others shape their movements, and watch them use their emotions, past experiences, thoughts and desires to impact this.
