have completed a PTLL (preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector) and a (PGCE) Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Canterbury University which enables me to teach and train other professionals. I regularly undertake consulting work delivering training to adult learners and for organisations who want to improve their training development, understanding and support of hard to reach groups. I have over 6 years’ experience in developing curriculums against outcomes and designed, delivered and providing practical advice on topics such as introduction to youth work, PSHE, safe guarding, budgeting, benefits, health and safety, and health and social care topics. Recently I have been teaching adult learners many of my students are SEN or have been out of education for many years. I am confident in differentiating my delivery, planning and schemas still working within a curriculum and promoting a positive learning experience for all learner needs. Through my experiences I have developed range of teaching strategies to accommodate all learners I am confident and have experience in setting programme objectives, to meet both organisation and individual needs; and deliver the expected learning outcomes.
I have worked at Abbey Manor as a school youth worker. I provided learning support in classes and in withdrawal situations on a 1:1 or in a small group. This gave me an opportunity to create a range of learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom. I am familiar with working with students that have learning difficulties and I am always mindful of students learning abilities and learning styles this awareness ensure that I think about differentiation and inclusiveness in my lessons so as to ensure a positive learning environment. Managing challenging behaviour and de escalating incidences is a skill I have had to demonstrate in most of my working roles I am secure in classroom and behaviour management I have experience working with challenging groups such as gang members and ex offenders and I am confident and able to set and enforce clear rules and boundaries.
Overall I possess excellent interpersonal skills I have developed a passion for individual self-growth and I endeavour to make a difference and encourage development and empowerment. My work is centred around self-exploration which is based on my person centred counselling training. I believe I am motivational and inspiring teacher/leader capable of coaching and empowering individuals to enable them to fulfil and reach their full potential.
