Hi, my name is Mark .
I am a German and Contemporary Chinese Studies BA student at the University of Nottingham about to enter my third year of four. I am very enthusiastic about languages, cultures and area.
I have taught English to German speakers, German to English speakers and beginners' level Mandarin Chinese to both German and English speakers. Private tutoring at sixth form for GCSE German, language coaching at a summer camp (Camp Adventure, Germany) and my outright passion for teaching languages for different purposes (formal, social/low register, inc. slang, business etc) make me the perfect choice for tutoring.

As an English native who has had to learn German (10 years) and Mandarin (3 years) as foreign languages, I understand the difficulties and complexities of learning the respective languages. Tones, distorted grammar patterns, measure words etc are obstacles to overcome. Additionally, I understand that there are different rates of learners, where it is ESSENTIAL (I can't stress that enough) to adapt teaching styles. I can provide all materials, whiteboards for practice and a friendly environment for the learner. Willing to travel. (most likely by bicycle, so it would be nice to have somewhere safe for it, garden, shed etc)
