Hello, my name is Maria. I am an English and Spanish graduate: BA (Hons) English Literature and Spanish Language and Literature , (University of Hertfordshire) and MA English Literature (University of Warwick). I have had experience as a EFL/EAL tutor for more than fifteen years. I have also worked as a Modern Greek and Spanish tutor in UK. In the academic year 2000-2001 I worked as a SEN TA in the Scottish Borders and I am currently working as a Cover Supervisor at various schools in the West Midlands area. I have had SEN training abroad (dyslexia, ADHD autism, Asperger syndrome SEBD) as well as TEFL training in UK.
At the moment I am attending a SEN TA course and have recently had Safeguarding at Schools training in Birmingham. I will also be attending a Team Teach course through one of my Education Recruitment agencies.
I have always worked with lesson plans with all my students as I consider every student (regardless of his age, background and educational requirements) a unique personality that deserves the best in education. My lessons include vocabulary practice , revision of grammar functions, aural and oral communication drills and practice and (depending on the age of the student) use of ''level'' readers, audiovisual materials and flashcards. I feel that every lesson has to be ''tailor-made'' to the student's learning pattern and educational requirements so that it can be fun, encouraging, and educationally stimulating.
