Hannah, private tutor music - ME18 Teston

I am currently in my third year of University, with the predicted grade of 2:1. This course involved a wide range of theory and performance skills. Key modules include, one-one singing lessons, performance solo, ensemble performance, dissertation and music and composition. I have a National Diploma in Musical Theatre, awarded with a DD*D. A show would be performed each year, where we were evaluated and assessed throughout the rehearsal process and the show itself. In the first year I was awarded with the lead role of Ariel in ‘Footloose’ and in the second year I was part of the chorus in ‘Godspell’. I also have 13 GCSE’s including english, maths and science, grade A-C. From the start of my degree until present I have provided singing lessons to a wide range of students from the age of 7 - 18, giving both vocal and piano lessons. For my younger students I tend to include fun activities and enjoyable songs and for my slightly more mature students I encourage them to work towards graded exams and amateur performances to develop their repertoire and experience. Over the last 8 years I have babysat for many families in and around the Sevenoaks area, my duties have included school runs, cooking meals and entertaining children as young as 18 months old. I enjoy forming a bond with all the children I care for and wish to further my experience, as it is a very rewarding passion of mine. In 2009 I spent a month working at Kemsing Primary School, helping students with their every day studies, including core subjects such as reading, math, english, science and PE. It was also my responsibility to assist with the coordination, planning and performance of the end of year show ‘Fame’. It was a fantastic opportunity and I learnt so much about how different children can be and how a teacher has to alter so greatly in order to bring out the best in every child. I enjoyed helping the children find the confidence to embrace and show off their talents.
