Dear Sir or Madam:

I am 24 years old and in search of a pupils to give French or Spanish lessons. I grew up in New Zealand with a French Father and Colombian Mother, I also have a Bachelor of Arts majoring in French and Spanish, I am therefore fluent in English, French and Spanish. My languages and wide professional experiences in education, hospitality and caring for children have enabled me to develop strong communication skills and made me very adaptable to different situations and cultures. I have always enjoyed caring for children and creating a calm, fun and positive environment where children feel safe and learn new things.

As well as my various babysitting experiences I also participated in many organisations and one to one lessons teaching English, French and Spanish.

My first experience teaching was in Auckland where I worked for Milouz Limited teaching French to a group of 7 children aged between 5 to 8 years old. I taught them French each Monday directly afterschool in their classroom during an hour. I had to make sure they listened carefully and helped them repeat each new word they learned with the correct pronunciation. We finished each class with a small written or drawing activity. As most of the hour was mostly listening and repeating it was easy for the children to get distracted therefore I had to really be aware of quickly changing activity or recapturing their attention with games.

Another important teaching experience I had was teaching was with the English assistant exchange program, where I was placed in Mont de Marsan a small French town to teach English in a primary school. I was taking care of all the English learning in the school I had a total of 7 classes of around 20 children. I had to prepare teach each of my lessons. I had to make sure each class was calm and attentive before starting each lessons. I also had to be aware of the children’s level and adapt each lesson to suit the class. This experience was very rewarding and challenging as I experienced first hand the art of being a teacher within a primary school.

I have always been surrounded by children either within my family or through work and am eager to find a position where I can expand on these experiences.
