My name is Lucy . I am currently undertaking a gap year before I begin to study Nursing in September 2016.
I have worked with the elderly for the past two years, as a care assistant within a residential care home.
My duties include; assisting with personal care, undertaking activities with residents, preparing and serving food, light housework, completing relevant documentation and also escorting residents to various appointments.
I have undertaken training in First Aid, Moving and Handling, Safe Guarding, Dementia Care and Fire Safety.
I am a conscientious, patient, respectful and understanding individual with excellent communication skills. I recognise that the elderly must always be treated with upmost compassion, empathy and respect in order to protect their dignity and enhance their independence as an individual.
