I have worked in adult mental health with a variety of ages including the elderly. I did this for 6 months and it included support with finances, cleaning, ironing and other house duties, helping to prepare and cook meals as well as supporting them to dress and wash when required. I also have elderly relatives that I will keep company by doing activities such as jigsaws, reading and walking and keeping them company.
