I love caring for people and working with people is something I believe I was born to do. I believe in keeping the mind and body as active as possible throughout life and make sure that people remain happy and independent.
I have a healthcare practitioners diploma and a lot of experience in care for older people. In my previous job I worked in a care home. Here I worked as a carer and a ‘nominated’ night carer. My duties involved supervising staff, giving out medication and making sure the residents were getting the correct medication at the correct time. I also provided personal care to the residents and gave hand over to the day team at the end of my shift. I had a lot of training in the job including medication training, tissue viability, end of life, equality and diversity to name a few. My other duties involved looking after the residents, making sure they and their families were happy. I was also responsible for efficiently completing relevant paper work on a daily basis I also deal with phone queries and questions from residents and their families. The job could be very stressful and upsetting at times so keeping a calm and remaining professional in the most stressful of situations was one of the most important things I learnt here. I also learnt great organisation skills in this job and learnt how to prioritise.
I look forward to hearing from you!
