Regarding my academic experience, I have recently graduated in English Studies: Literature and Linguistics at the University of Granada (Spain). I am currently completing a module in Childcare in north East Scotland College, Aberdeen, United Kingdom. Also, I had the opportunity to complete one year of my degree in Aberdeen in an exchange programme. This was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life- living in a different country and experiencing new ways of working and teaching. Seeing first hand a new approach to education gave me a deeper insight of the various systems and helped me to understand different ways of lecturing and learning. This was the seed to decide that I wanted to become a professional teacher.
Regarding my professional experience, I was offered a job by the local council and started working as an English teacher in a summer camp. This professional experience was challenging as I was to teach English to classes of 10 ten students aged between 3 and 12. I felt really nervous during the first lessons and kind of overwhelmed but it helped me to learn and improve my skills every single day. This also took me out of my comfort zone and helped me develop personally and professionally- as a plus I would like to mention the result did not take long to appear and that my contract was renewed during the following summers. This was only the seed I needed to decide my future: to become a qualified teacher.
Finally, I also consider this will offer me experience for further jobs and I would love to pass my knowledge to people keen to learn.
