Tutoring comes across as the perfect part time job for a student like myself, the hours are flexible allowing me to commit to both my students and my own studies.
The skill I pride myself on is my ability to converse with my student in simple terms - having been tutored for many years myself, I remember the pressure I felt to just say "yes" to my tutor simply to keep the lesson going even though I didn't fully understand the topic. I haven't forgotten what it feels like to BE tutored - as a result I can improve my lessons accordingly and approach the student on her/his terms.
As a tutor I hope to gain experience in teaching and resilience as I hope to one day become a teacher myself.
