Hello! My name is Sam and I have been teaching now for 4 years. During this time I have taught in Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. I have spent 2 years preparing Year 6 pupils for their end of year tests (SATS). Since qualifying as a teacher I have also gained a distinction in a Masters course in Teaching, so you can be sure that you're hiring someone who can teach and who has a real passion for the theory behind how learning really works.
My speciality is in teaching effective skills based lessons in mathematics. I will always make sure lessons are at exactly the right level for your child by assessing their prior knowledge before planning and creating activities for our sessions. This means we won't be wasting any time figuring out what you can and can't do during our time together - we can get on with making progress and developing skills and confidence!
I am also available to teach reading and writing with the aim of preparing for the end of Key Stage 2 SATS tests and preparing for learning at secondary school. I can help to develop confidence and specific skills needed for the reading test and I will develop writing needs by creating a bespoke scheme of work that will engage and motivate the learner according to their interests and passions.

The cost involves games to play between lessons to embed basic skills and pre-learning assessments which enable me to prepare perfectly pitched lessons to your child.
