Hi, My name is Shannon. I am 17 years old and I have just finished a level three course in Animal management. Even though I am not specifically qualified in pet sitting, I am fully aware of the time, patience and care it takes to look after any animal. During my time at college I studied subjects such as animal welfare, the accommodation of animals, feeding and handling animals, animal biology, animal first aid and many more so I am fully qualified in caring for a range of animals. At Kirkley Hall Campus, they have a small zoo which has domestic and exotic animals ranging from rabbits and birds to alpacas, snakes and meerkats and I have cared (fed, cleaned the enclosure and handled) many off the inhabitants there.
I am a fun and enthusiastic person that is hardworking and has a strive to succeed. I am always punctual and I am extremely attentive to detail but most importantly I am patient and understanding. All of these qualities contribute towards being an amazing pet sitter.
I have four loving pets:
My Bullmastiff named Buster, who is 10 years old is quite old now but he still acts like he is 6 months old. He is such a funny, loving and beautiful animal that would not hurt a soul. Buster acts like and is practically like a big baby as he feels the need to have your attention 24/7, which can be quite annoying at times but everyone knows that he means well.
My Yorkshire Terrier called Missy, who is about 8 years old is quite shy around new animals but is absolutely the opposite towards other people. Like buster she is extremely funny as she does this expression on her face when she is excited, which simulates/looks like a smile (basically she looks like she is growling/snarling but she doesn't bite and as she does this expression she tends to sneeze a lot)
I also have two cats. One named Hiromi, who is 2/3 years old and the other is called Muta and he is less that a year old. Hiromi is a little bit temperamental when it comes to animals that she doesn't know, however in my past experiences with looking after other peoples pets I have noticed that she tends to stay out of the way for a period of time until she feels comfortable with the new animal. Muta on the other hand has had no experiences with any other animals (apart from my own) but he is a very friendly cat that loves loads of cuddles and love.
My home is a medium sized cottage that is open planned and our living and dining area is quite large. This is perfect for a range of animals that have different personalities as it is big enough for small, medium and large animals to play in and is extremely comfortable for them to feel at home. However, our back yard is quite small/medium sized but under my care I will ensure that your dog is walked twice (or more depending if you desire more) a day at a range of places as there are two parks 5 minutes away from my house, which is used for dogs walkers. I also tend to take my dogs and dogs that I look after to larger area (by care) such as Herrington Park, The Beach and the river side so they can fully enjoy a lovely long run and a change of environment.
