I looked after my nan when she had a heart attack and a stroke. I did everything for her. I also did some work experience in a nursing home so i gained some knowledge there. I love spending time with elderly people and listening to there storys from their life. I can give as much help as i can to help them.
I am a kind, dependable and friendly person and happy to spend some time with, reading/chatting or shop and cook (maybe batch cook and freeze) some meals for someone who is unable to manage it themself. I retired last year to nurse my mother in law who was terminally ill. We found it difficult to find small amounts of help . Someone to sit and chat , read or sit and watch to with her for an hour . This would of been so useful . I would like to offer a range of help from sitting either in their home or at my home to more involved packages. As a confident and reliable young woman, my instincts have always been to help others if I can. In the past when my grandad was very ill, I helped him with eating and kept him company when I visited. I'd like to think that even though it didn't help him get better, it made him happier as he struggled with cancer. I now realise that helping elderly people is something I would benefit a lot from.
