What do I offer.

I help primary aged children with their homework and tutor them according to their needs and abilities. I specialise on children with learning disabilities especially those who are on the Autism Spectrum. My style of teaching is focused on the ability of the client rather than limitations in order to bring out the best potential of the child.

Who am I.

I am a recent graduate in Psychology from the University of Malta and have been working with children for the last five years. I have moved to Southampton to pursue a Masters degree in Educational Management and Leadership. Throughout these past five years, I have focused my work on learning disabilities with a special focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder.

I have worked for four years as a tutor for children who are on the spectrum, mainly delivering sessions which were both academic and life skills related. Within the same organisation I was employed as a Summer School LSA which involved me being appointed to specific clients with various disabilities such as ASD and Down Syndrome. During this post, I was responsible for ensuring my clients’ safety throughout the program, working in a team with other colleagues such as class teachers and other LSAs to provide both fun and educational activities for the whole class, in addition to being responsible for van supervision on particular days.

As I have accumulated a significant amount of experience, this Summer I was employed in more senior positions. With the previously mentioned organisation, I was employed as a lead tutor in which, during this specialised programme, I was the expert on ASD and guided, supervised and scheduled tutors and volunteers according to the clients’ needs during sessions.

Furthermore, I was also working as a deputy coordinator in a governmental summer school. In this role I worked hand in hand with the Centre Coordinator and was responsible for providing assistance and delivering in the day-to-day operations of the Summer School programme of activities. I also evaluated the programme, safety of the premises and provided adequate supervision of the children. Additionally, I acted as a liaison between the service users and the Centre Coordinator.
