Paige, senior home help in Folkestone CT19

Hello, my name is Paige. I've recently left sixth form after doing a two year childcare course which I successfully completed. I've had no experience within working with the elderly however often stayed round my nans when I had sixth form and I would often cook us a meal and help her clean as she often found this difficult. I would also help her with shopping because she often gets very tired and out of breath and has in the past blacked out. A few months ago she could barely breathe so I called for an out of hours doctor who then took her to the hospital for a few nights. There the nurses discovered that she has COPD which affects the lungs and is caused by smoking. I showed her have to put the medication into her inhaler and how to work it. I also would wake up in the night to wake her up for her to take her medication. Thankfully she is much better now and can take her medication.
