Home help for seniors living in Worcester Park

Hello! My name is Shannon and I'm in my last year of sixthform, before I go to university next year, but I will be staying in this area. Although I don't have much experience of caring for the elderly, I am egaer to gain some. I'm empathetic, kind and patient, and enjoy the company of others. I am a 17 year old student living in Ewell, attending Nonsuch High School for Girls. I am looking for some part-time work as I have quite a lot of free-time, particularly on weekends. I am happy to do a wide range of everyday tasks, such as shopping, maintaining the garden etc. I am also quite skilled at sewing- I have been sewing for 7 years and have an A* in GCSE Textiles, so I would be able to mend clothes. I have now lost all my grandparents who I miss so dearly. I loved nothing more than sitting with them for hours and chatting about anything and everything. I would love to be able to keep someone company, to listen to their adventures, care for and have a laugh with. In my grandads last few years he suffered from Alzheimer’s I would go round weekly to sit with him, talk, cook him food. Whatever he needed I was there.

As I have worked as a professional Care-worker for a while, I have relevant and necessary experience to take care of seniors - whether that's by simply providing company and reading to them or talking to them, or if it means cleaning up their homes. I have good organisational skills so I am also very happy to help with administrative tasks.

I currently work in a day center for the elderly. I do not like being restricted to spending hours in one room so i am looking for something that gets me out and about more. am happy to be a companion for a short time daily. I am happy to help out during meal times. I am happy to take shopping or get shopping for you.
