I would love to help people wherever I can especially with some shopping or simply keeping them company to entertain them for some time. I am very easy going and patient and I have also had personal experience helping around with my grandparents.

I looked after my mother for the last 10 years of her life. I did the shopping, overseeing bills and other admin duties, organised medical appointments, encouraged her to socialize as well as anything else that was needed. Also accompanied her on holidays as well as days out.

Volunteering as a visitor for over a year now through Independent Age UK and visit an elderly lady who is 100 for an hour a week. I have a real passion for helping others especially the elderly as I feel they can get very lonely and isolated at times.
I have now lost all my grandparents who I miss so dearly. I loved nothing more than sitting with them for hours and chatting about anything and everything. I would love to be able to keep someone company, to listen to their adventures, care for and have a laugh with. In my grandads last few years he suffered from Alzheimer’s I would go round weekly to sit with him, talk, cook him food. Whatever he needed I was there.
